Question: How does Viet Nam comment on the recent dispute between Cambodia and Thailand in the area of Preah Vihear Temple?

Answer:

As a member of ASEAN, Viet Nam is deeply concerned over the clash in the area of Preah Vihear Temple on Cambodian - Thai border. Viet Nam calls on the two sides to exercise restraint, avoid complicating the situation, settle the issue through peaceful negotiation on the basis of the main principles of international law, the United Nations Charter, in the spirit of ASEAN friendship and solidarity, in the interests of the peoples of two countries and for peace, stability and development in the region and the world over.
