Kremlin - Russian-Danish talks have taken place, 28 April 2010
The talks focused primarily on developing trade and
economic ties, expanding the legal base for the two countries’ relations,
and bilateral and international cooperation in the Arctic.
Dmitry Medvedev noted that Russian-Danish relations have made considerable progress of late. The two countries have promising cooperation opportunities in the energy, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, and transport sectors. Agreements were reached on cooperation in high technology and Russia’s economic modernisation.
Speaking earlier at a Russian-Danish business conference, the President welcomed Denmark’s policy of developing economic cooperation with Russia based on investment in manufacturing and industry and building production facilities and infrastructure.
Mr Medvedev and Danish Prime Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen signed the Partnership for Modernisation declaration following their talks. The two leaders also oversaw the signing of a number of bilateral agreements on cooperation in fighting cross-border crime, carrying out projects to prevent climate change, energy efficiency and renewable energy sources.
