Iran - President back home after 2-day Syria visit

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad left here for home on Friday after a two-day official visit to Syria.

While in Syria, President Ahmadinejad met and conferred with his Syrian counterpart Bashar al-Assad, a group of Palestinian leaders and Secretary General of Lebanese Hizbollah Hassan Nasrallah.

The visit was in response to the August visit to Tehran of Syrian President al-Assad.

Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki, Minister of Housing and Urban Development and the Iranian head of the Iran-Syria Joint Economic Commission, Ali Nikzad, Head of the Presidential Office Esfandiar Rahim Mashaie, presidentís senior aide Mojtaba Samareh Hashemi and a number of Majlis deputies accompanied the president in his visit.
