Iranian Diplomat considered "persona non grata" in Bahrain

Bahrain considers the Second Secretary at the Iranian Embassy to the Kingdom a “persona non grata":

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has summoned this afternoon Mr. Mahdi Islami, the Charge d'Affaires of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Kingdom of Bahrain, where he was handed a diplomatic note on the decision of the authorities in the Kingdom of Bahrain considering Mr. Hojjat Elah Rahmani, the Second Secretary at the Iranian Embassy to the Kingdom of Bahrain, a “persona non grata” in relation to his connection with the espionage cell in the State of Kuwait, and requested his departure from the Kingdom within 72 hours.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs renewed its refusal to any interference in the affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the affairs of its fellow States of the Gulf Cooperation Council, and called upon the Islamic Republic of Iran to desist from such irresponsible acts, which are considered a serious violation of the norms and principles of international relations and pose a threat to the security and stability in the region.
