DPRK-China friendship is cemented with blood, PLA official says

Chen Yong, assistant to chief of general staff of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA), met with Ri Bong Chuk, director of the General Administration of Border Guard Force of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), and his party in Beijing on May 24, 2011.

Chen Yong said that the China-DPRK traditional friendship enjoys popular support. Over the years, China and the DPRK as well as their militaries have maintained close contacts and provided mutual assistance to promote the development of their respective countries and armed forces. In the new historical period, the Chinese side is willing to work together with the DPRK side to enhance communication and coordination, strengthen strategic mutual trust, promote further development of the relations between the two countries and the two militaries, and jointly safeguard the security and peace of the border areas, so as to make new contributions to maintaining the peace, stability and prosperity of the region and the world at large.

Ri Bong Chuk said that the DPRK-China friendship is cemented with blood, and is the treasure founded and passed down by the older generation of leaders of the two countries. He hoped that the two sides would work together to build a friendly and cooperative border and constantly consolidate and develop friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries and the two militaries.
