Assad and Arslan agree on consolidating Lebanon's unity and strength

President Bashar al-Assad on Wednesday discussed with Head of the Lebanese Democratic Party MP Talal Arslan the situation in Lebanon after the formation of the Lebanese government.

Both sides highlighted the importance of concerted efforts of all the Lebanese for the sake of consolidating Lebanon's unity and strength.

The current situation in Syria was also dealt with during the meeting.

President al-Assad's meeting with Arslan followed several earlier meetings with other Lebanese senior officials and political parties leaders over the past months.

Talks during the meetings focused on the importance of finding suitable solutions to the problems facing Lebanon that guarantee its security, stability and national unity.

A new Lebanese government was announced on June 13th led by Premier Najib Mikati.
