OIC Secretary General condemns Israel's seizure of Gaza-bound French ship "dignity"

The Secretary General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Professor Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, has strongly condemned Israel for taking over the French ship ‘Dignity’ carrying humanitarian aid and sympathisers with the blockaded Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip. He considered the seizure of the French ship a blatant breech of international laws and customs.

The Secretary General also stated that the continuing Israeli occupation and blocking of humanitarian aid convoys destined for the blockaded Gaza Strip and Israel’s aggression against international sympathisers with the besieged Palestinian people in parallel with its military aggression against the Gaza Strip necessitate a firm international position against these continuing violations and crimes.

The Secretary General stressed the need to continue the international sympathy campaigns with the aim of breaking the Israeli blockade imposed on the Gaza Strip, calling upon the international community to shoulder its responsibility and end this illegal and unjust Israeli blockade imposed on the Palestinian people.
