Mikhail Myasnikovich appointed Prime Minister of Belarus

President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko made several personnel decisions on 28 December 2010, the press service of the Belarusian Head of state told. Mikhail Myasnikovich has been appointed Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus.

Vladimir Semashko has been appointed First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus.

Anatoly Kalinin has been appointed Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus.

Sergei Rumas has been appointed Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus.

Valery Ivanov has been appointed Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus.

Anatoly Tozik has been appointed Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus.

Vladimir Makei has been appointed Head of the Belarus President Administration.

Alexander Radkov has been appointed First Deputy Head of the Belarus President Administration.

Andrei Kobyakov has been appointed Deputy Head of the Belarus President Administration.

Valery Mitskevich has been appointed Deputy Head of the Belarus President Administration.

Alexander Yakobson has been appointed Chairman of the State Control Committee of the Republic of Belarus.

Leonid Anfimov has been appointed First Deputy Chairman of the State Control Committee of the Republic of Belarus.

Gennady Davydko has been appointed Chairman of the National State Teleradiocompany of the Republic of Belarus.

The Government should become a collegial body, the press service of the Belarusian Head of state quoted President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko as saying when he appointed top members of the Council of Ministers.

The Head of state said that the Government should be formed by the new year in order to start working on 1 January.

Alexander Lukashenko told the newly appointed Council of Ministers: “The Government should become a collegial body. The Government should not tell ministers to do their jobs. Responsibility should be transferred to ministers, heads of enterprises, oblast governors, right down to heads of district administrations. The Government should mind their own business. Mikhail Myasnikovich is a very flexible person in this regard. He will be able to organize the operation of the Government as a collegial body”.

The Belarus President also said that Mikhail Myasnikovich had accumulated a lot of experience of working in various executive positions. Besides, innovation-driven development is one of the priorities for the next five-year term while the new Prime Minister worked hard in this sphere in his previous office.
