Iraqi FM and Turkish Prime Minister agree to cooperate on PKK's activities

Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdogan received on 13/10/2011, in his headquarters in Istanbul, Iraq's Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari and the accompanying delegation.

At the beginning of the meeting, Foreign Minister presented the Iraq's government and leadership condolences on the occasion of the death of his mother and wished him patience.

The Iraqi Foreign Minister presented for the Turkey's Foreign Minister Ahmed Dawood Oglu results of the discussion of the Technical Ministerial Committee which was attended by 11 representatives from the Iraqi ministerial and the preparations for holding the meeting of Supreme Committee for the Strategic Cooperation Council headed by the two countries' Prime Ministers.

Mr. Erdogan welcomed the visit of the Iraqi delegation and described it as an extension of the cooperation bonds, friendship, and brotherhood between the two neighboring countries and peoples.

He also stressed Turkey's full support to Iraq in the reconstruction process and building.

The two sides discussed also cooperation in fields of fighting terrorism, joint borders security, activation work of the Joint Security Committees to prevent the activities of the terrorist groups (PKK), and the two countries interests on the base of Good-neighborliness and respect the sovereignty of both countries.
