Syrian President al-Assad, Chinese military official discussed future cooperation

President Bashar al-Assad expressed on Monday appreciation of China's supportive stances to the Arab causes, underlining keenness on continuing boosting up the relations between the two friendly countries.

The remarks came during President al-Assad's meeting with Vice Chairman of the Military Commission of China Xu Cai Hou. Both sides reviewed prospects of future cooperation in all areas to contribute to consolidating the close bilateral relations for the interests of the two friendly peoples.

Xu stressed China's desire to strengthen relations with Syria and build up strong relations between armies of the two friendly countries.

The Chinese official expressed his country's support to Syria's national issues on top of which the efforts exerted for the restoration of the occupied Syrian Golan and the establishment of just and comprehensive peace in the Middle East.

Last month, President al-Assad discussed with Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) Jia Qinglin the friendly relations between Syria and China and the common desire to consolidate them in the political, economic and cultural fields.
