China renews rejection of any pressure on Syria

China on Wednesday renewed rejection of any pressures on Syria, saying "the crisis should be solved through dialogue and consultations instead of pressures."

"Increasing pressure on Damascus won't offer solution, the right direction to solve the crisis is to start a comprehensive political process with Syria to be the main player," Xinhua news agency quoted Spokesperson of the Chinese Foreign Ministry Jiang Yu as saying.

She added "We have to give the Syrian leadership more time to carry out the announced reforms."
